Rare Things

a seat on the 205 Kyoto city bus. Probably the most used bus in the city, it’s almost always packed with tourists, japanese old people, and groups of Japanese middle schoolers. Most of the times I ride the 205, I’m holding onto the handles with one hard and getting pushed into the crowd of people packed in tight. One time me and my jar of salmon even fell on a poor, old man.

Today however was my day. I got a seat, even better, a window seat. It was a comfortable ride for once from Kinkakuji-michi to Saiin.

Found an old one of me and a monkey at the Arashiyama monkey park

A friend posted this shot on Mixi. the typhoon is passing now, the wind is still a bit strong.

But the sky really was purple before the sun set. so lovely.

Typhoon headed for us for the next couple days. It’s pouring rain here, off and on. it’s wishful thinking that my final for tomorrow would be canceled, but I can hope.

Leaving Kyoto on the Hankyu train to Osaka

Early commute, the long wait for the buses. Everybody carries fans, and mini washcloths to dab away sweat and umbrellas for the afternoon.

pretty sure he drove past me today around 6 am in kyoto.

TGI Fridays in Kyoto!

they even had the same typical american themed decorations.

but it wasn’t really crowded, 2x as expensive, and no mozzarella stick appetizers. i was a little disappointed with that aspect, but overall the food was good.
